Thank you for checking out North Hamilton County Elementary School. The mission of our school is to ensure that all students learn at high levels. In order to accomplish this mission it is important to have the right people in the right places. At North Hamilton, our staff believes it is important to be lifelong learners. My journey began at Union University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Business Administration and met my husband, Kyle. Working as a social worker, I learned more about family dynamics and socio-economic problems families face. After the birth of my two girls, I decided to stay home for several years and worked on my Master of Science degree from the University of Memphis. When the girls were little, I volunteered on a regular basis in their school and was PTA President. When it was time to go back to work, I knew I wanted my job to be in a school. So I received my Specialist in Education degree from Tennessee Technological University and began to teach. While teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade I worded toward my National Board Certification. This was a very reflective and growing process and it wasn’t long before my focus turned toward administration. As an administrator, each and every day holds a different and mostly unpredicted challenge. I wake up every morning with only one certainty about my day: my focus will be on making sure our students are learning. I’m a Grammy now (all boys and I love every minute of my time with them) and I love being the principal of this school. North Hamilton has great kids, great families and great teachers. There is no better combination!
